The people of Deal run Deal Museum
Deal Museum is run entirely by volunteers and we aim to give everyone a friendly welcome, hoping to share our enthusiasm for, and love of, Deal and its fascinating history. However, it is also important to us that everyone who has a special area of interest in the Museum, a particular skill, or special requirement, has the opportunity to get more involved.
Stewarding
Our Stewards are the welcoming face of the Museum, and we are always looking for more people to join our Stewarding team. Without our Stewards we would not be able to keep the Museum open to locals and visitors alike. The time commitment can be flexible and full training is given. Stewards always work in pairs so it is also a great way to get to know new people who share an interest in Deal’s history.
Research and expertise
Do you have experience in historical research or conservation? There is a wealth of information and objectives stored ‘backstage’ in our archive, and we are always on the lookout for people with a special interest in a particular subject, a background in conservation, or simply a thirst to know more about Deal’s history so that we can continue to catalogue and make accessible our resources.
Fundraising
Raising funds to keep the Museum open and developing is a vital part of our work, and we are always looking for volunteers with experience in fundraising, being it from corporate bodies, grant making foundations or through sponsorship schemes.
If you are interested in any of the above volunteer roles, or feel you have something else to offer the Museum, please get in touch at
